Benjamin Daniel

Benjamin Daniel was born and raised in Gwinnett County, Georgia. His brand of lyrical indie folk draws equal inspiration from the quietest moments of artists like Andrew Peterson and Sufjan Stevens, to the heaviest moments of bands like Anberlin and mewithoutYou. The result is a sound that majors on the softer side of folk, with occasional bursts of big indie rock and loud vocals serving as exclamation points between Benjamin's more tender passages. His sophomore album, Shelterheart, released in Fall 2021 to critical acclaim and year-end recognition (most notably serving as Jesus Freak Hideout's #1 staff pick for Album of the Year). The album weaves together a narrative celebrating Christian brotherhood in a harsh world. In these stories, pain is met by providence and grief is met by God.

These are the kinds of stories Benjamin hopes to tell as long as he still breathes.
